Roberto Occhiuto investigated for corruption, trouble for the president of Calabria: "Infamous accusation, I'm clean"

The president of the Calabria region, Roberto Occhiuto , a leading member of Forza Italia, is under investigation .

The governor himself revealed this in a video published on social media in which he publicly announced that he had received a notice of investigation for corruption.

“Usually people say ‘I am calm, I trust the judiciary’. I am calm, my ass… I am not calm, because being registered in the register of suspects, even for my protection as they tell me, is a defamatory thing for me: it is as if they had accused me of murder. It is an unlikely thing that I could be brought close to a hypothesis even remotely close to corruption”, his words in the video in which Occhiuto asks to be investigated “in 360 degrees, without leaving anything out” because “ I am a clean man and politician ”.

The president of the Calabria Region has asked, through his lawyers, to be immediately questioned by the magistrates. "I do not know and I cannot imagine the reason for this notice of investigation - explains Roberto Occhiuto - but I want to be questioned as soon as possible because, given how I have behaved in these years, I have nothing to fear".

The notice of investigation delivered to Occhiuto bears the signature of the Catanzaro district attorney Salvatore Curcio and would have also reached two other people, whose names are unknown.

The investigation was also born thanks to a series of articles in the newspaper ' Domani ' on the relationship between Occhiuto and the manager and former partner of the governor Paolo Posteraro , now head of the secretariat of Matilde Siracusano, undersecretary of the Meloni government as well as partner of the Forza Italia president of Calabria.
